I'm going to keep this a little shorter tonight because I haven't been getting enough sleep and I need to wrap this up earlier. I tried taking a nap today, but my back was hurting so much that I couldn't nod off and by the time my back eased up enough for me to sleep two neighbor dogs decided it was the best time to have a conversation and catch up on canine gossip.
With the Lyrica having the rotten side effect of killing libido and the other fibromyalgia medications giving me problems with side effects too, my options are starting to run out. The bummer is that I'm really getting tired of the medication merry-go-round and I kind of feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette. My medicine cabinet looks like a pharmacy.
This next week I'll go in and see the pain management doctor and I'll have to ask him to change my medication again. This will be the first time seeing the actual doctor and not just his assistant. I'm going to ask him about medical marijuana and if he gives me the "That stuff doesn't work" speech then I'll probably walk out of there and never go back. With all of the evidence out there, if I have another pain management doctor gives me his close minded crap, then I don't need his help. It's not that I'm insisting on using it, it's that I want a pain management doctor who can see it for what it is and give me the option. So far my experience with these Pain Management guys has been a joke and the only thing they want to do is pump people with their medications. I've read enough and had a few of my doctors say that it would work for me so I want an objective opinion.
Here is a link to an article about medical MJ and using it to treat fibromyalgia: Web MD
If medical MJ worked for me then I'd be getting rid of four medications I take and replacing it with one. If that Doctor gives me some crap answer I'll go to a doctor the prescribes the stuff and I'll take it for a while to see if it works for me. If it doesn't then what have I lost?
